Proof Liberty Nickels
1910 5C PR68 Cameo PCGS. CAC. Of the 2,405 proof Liberty nickels manufactured for sale to collectors in 1910, PCGS has seen seven coins in PR68. Four are non-Cameo submissions. This is one of three PR68 examples with a formal Cameo designation. CAC has awarded green stickers to three PR68 coins and two PR68 Cameo coins, including PCGS and NGC-graded representatives (9/17).
The green sticker here is wholly deserved. Dramatic field reflectivity is evident beneath a veil of even golden-rose patina. The motifs are thickly frosted and fully brought-up, accenting contrast against the glassy mirrors. Incredibly, both sides are utterly devoid of visible contact.
