Standing Liberty Quarters
1916 25C AU53 PCGS. This is an eye-appealing AU example of the inaugural Standing Liberty quarter, showing satiny surfaces with only a trace of high-point friction. Steel-gray patina yields wisps of lavender, gold, and blue under a loupe. There are no distracting abrasions. The 1916 is the longest-recognized key date in the series, and other than the 1918/7-S (which is not essential for a complete date and mintmark collection in the eyes of some), it is the most elusive overall.
