Early Half Dollars
1794 50C O-101, T-7, High R.3, Fine 15 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1/3. A middle state of the reverse die shows the die crack near F in OF extending to the olive leaves below. This is a lightly toned, attractive early half with Choice surfaces for the Fine grade. A few small ticks accompany moderate wear on the obverse, which displays wisps of gold and sea-green toning at the margins around golden-gray interiors. The reverse is sharply defined, with a few old adjustment marks hidden in the right (facing) wing. 1794 half dollars are seldom this nice for the grade.
