Seated Half Dollars
1854-O 50C Arrows, WB-101, Die Pair 1, R.2, MS65 PCGS. The date is broadly doubled, indicating an early die state although diagnostic die cracks from a later die state exist on both the obverse and reverse, suggesting the coin was struck before any relapping or polishing of the obverse die. The strike is bold with just nominal weakness at the eagle's left (facing) talon. Strong mint luster radiates in cartwheels over silver-white surfaces interspersed with areas of amber and russet-gold toning. Population: 20 in 65, 19 finer (9/17).
