Proof Morgan Dollars
1900 $1 PR64+ Cameo PCGS. The sale of 912 proof sets in 1900 translates to perhaps 450 to 500 well-preserved proof dollars that survive today. Of those, only about 20% display Cameo or Deep Cameo surfaces. This Plus-graded Choice example has a smoothly frosted portrait and even stronger contrast on the reverse. Lightly toned in even, translucent gold hues, the silver-mirrored surfaces show only a few light lines and a thin crescent of tiny grazes in the left obverse field. The eye appeal is excellent. Population: 23 in 64 (3 in 64+) Cameo, 28 finer (9/17).
