1811 $5 Tall 5, BD-1, High R.3, AU55 NGC. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/d. Pleasing olive-gold surfaces show glimpses of orange at the stars and legends. The lowest feather tip is well to the right of the Tall 5 flag on the reverse. Minor die clashing from the shield is visible beneath the ear on this Choice coin, which represents a middle die state. In a later stages, heavy die clashing above the date signifies the latest state of the dies. Somewhere between 175 and 250 pieces exist of the Tall 5 type. Census: 3 in 55, 41 finer (9/17).
