1801 50C O-102, T-1, High R.4 -- Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Tompkins Die Stage undetermined. Two varieties are known for the 1801 half dollar, Overton-102 being scarcer. The absence of a raised die defect below the N in UNITED confirms the attribution. Steel-gray surfaces show signs of untold repairs, from smoothing in the fields to a possible plug right of (STATE)S. Most glaring is an attempt to repair the right obverse border. Those flaws aside, design detail is much sharper than usual.
