The huge mintage of more than 13 million 1901-O silver dollars yields a surprising number of prooflike and deep mirror prooflike examples, but none are certified finer than the Premium Gem level at either service. This mostly brilliant coin displays a diaphanous glimpse of golden-gray patina, with a sharp strike except at the immediate hair strands over the ear, and modest contrast between the frosted devices and reflective fields.
