Proof Morgan Dollars
1892 $1 PR64 NGC. More proof Morgan dollars were struck in 1892 than virtually any other year in the series. The Mint anticipated strong demand for the new Barber coins in proof format, which were included in the same sets as these Morgan dollar specimens. In all, 1,245 examples were manufactured for sale to collectors. This example has black-and-white contrast that goes unmentioned by NGC. The fields are reflective, and only a few scattered wisps are noted.
