Peace Dollars
1928 $1 MS65 PCGS. An overlay of almond-gold patina blankets the obverse, allowing underlying mint luster to shine through. The reverse maintains its brilliance. UNITED and ONE are a trifle soft, but the other legends and central motifs are well-detailed. Only 360,000 Peace dollars were struck at the Mint in 1928. The issue is known to collectors within this series and without as cornerstone date. There are 18 finer submissions at PCGS (10/17).
