GSA Dollars
1881-CC $1 GSA MS66 ★ NGC. During its 90 years of Treasury storage, this Carson City Morgan dollar had its reverse in contact with the canvas bag, and that side of the coin developed the gorgeous gold, blue, and iridescent toning that remains today. The obverse, without contacting the chemicals in the cloth bag, remained brilliant and untoned. This piece exhibits pristine surfaces, a bold strike, and frosty mint luster. NGC has only certified eight examples in MS66 ★, one in MS66+ ★, and just 35 numerically finer.
