Liberty Double Eagles
1888-S $20 MS63+ PCGS. Although examples of the 1888-S double eagle were discovered in the Saddle Ridge Hoard, no significant quantities of Mint State pieces were added to the population reports. This issue remains scarce above MS63 and prohibitively rare in Gem condition. The present Plus-graded Select example displays a sharp strike and frosty yellow-gold luster. Light surface grazes contribute to the grade.
