Liberty Double Eagles
1894 $20 MS64 PCGS. The 1894 double eagle is an available Type Three date in most grades, but it becomes scarce in near-Gem condition and it is a rarity any finer. This lustrous and satiny Choice example has smooth surfaces and nice, variegated gold patina. Orange-gold shades surround light yellow-gold centers. A few slight chatter marks on the rims are of little note because there are no heavy or distracting marks. PCGS reports just three numerically finer coins (9/17).
