1904-S $20 MS65 NGC. This mass-produced issue (5.1 million coins struck) is surprisingly scarce in MS65, and extremely rare in higher grades. The only area of noticeable softness occurs on the date. Otherwise, this Gem San Francisco double eagle is razor-sharp. There are seven higher grading events reported at PCGS (9/17).
