Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1908 $20 Motto MS64 PCGS. In the second half of 1908, the reverse design of the Saint-Gaudens double eagle was modified to incorporate the motto IN GOD WE TRUST above the sun. The number struck during that year with the motto were but a fraction of those struck without it, making this a particularly desirable first-year-of-type issue. This Choice Uncirculated example has the bagmarks and other abrasions usually encountered, but is well-struck with pleasing coloration.
