1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-211, Pollock-262, R.4, PR62 NGC. The obverse of this popular pattern displays James Longacre's Indian Head motif that appears on the production cent of 1859. The reverse, however, carries a thick oak wreath not unlike the one the Mint would mate with a shield for its 1860 cent production. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. This is the centered date Pollock variant of Judd-211. The reddish-tan surfaces display deep brick-red color in the protected areas over each side that somewhat subdues the overall appearance.
