1884 1C One Cent, Judd-1722, Pollock-1930, Low R.7, PR65 NGC. CAC. Eastman Johnson's annular design for the cent with an irregular hole at the center. The statutory legends exclude LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The lower reverse has an inverted Federal shield and two laurel branches. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. Also struck in nickel and one unique piece struck in white metal. The hole was hand-cut in these pieces, and that is immediately apparent on this example. The hole is slightly oval-shaped and irregularly cut. Bright, unoxidized surfaces with significant reflectivity in the fields.
