(1979) $1 Judd-2175, Pollock-2090, R.6, MS66 PCGS. This was an experimental piece struck by the Mint in preparation for the upcoming Susan B. Anthony dollars. Both obverse and reverse has 11 sides, as did the SBA dollars, and these were produced to give to vending machine manufacturers. Struck in clad cupro-nickel with a reeded edge. Probably a dozen or more pieces are known today. Survivors of this experimental striking are rare and this is the first we remember having handled. The surfaces show circular lathe-turning lines on each side, and the centers are slightly raised. Essentially untoned.
