Separate punches "P,M,S," may or may not be related to the initial Ebling counterstamp, which reads EBLING'S / COLUMBIAN / GARDEN / 200 / BOWERY / N.Y in 6 lines. A classic New York counterstamp issued by Joseph E. Ebling, a confectioner, New York politician, and wheeler/dealer in the 1840s and 1850s.
