THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 420-400 BC. AR Drachm (18mm, 5.77 g, 2h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos and chlamys hanging around neck, restraining bull left by band held around its head / ΛΑΡI-Σ-AI, horse prancing right within incuse circle. Lorber, Thessalian 60 (same dies as illustration); BCD Thessaly II 370.3 (same obv. die); HGC 4, 421 var. (horse left). Near VF, toned, struck with worn dies, some granularity, a couple light marks.
