Commemorative Silver
1922 50C Grant No Star MS62 NGC. As many as 250,000 Grant Memorial half dollars were authorized by Congress. Initially, there was only supposed to be a single variety without a star above GRANT, but one was inadvertently added to create the scarce With Star type. Ultimately, only 67,405 No Star half dollars were sold and 27,650 coins were melted. This typically-struck mint condition example has light reddish-gold borders around minimally toned centers. Grade-limiting marks do not distract.
