DYNASTS of LYCIA. temp. Vekhssere II. Circa 410/00-390/80 BC. AR Stater (20mm, 8.33 g, 8h). Pilleñni (Pinara) mint. Helmeted head of Athena right / Head of female right, hair in ampyx and sphendone; PILLEN (in Lycian) to right, uncertain letter or monogram below chin; all within incuse circle. Müseler VII, 28; Falghera –; cf. SNG Copenhagen Supp. 488. VF, toned, struck from worn dies. Very rare.

The example cataloged by Müseler has a completely illegible inscription. He notes that a definitive placement would only be possible if the legend were clear. The legend on the present piece is clear, and names the mint, Pilleñni (Pinara).
