SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos III Soter (Keraunos). 225/4-222 BC. AR Tetradrachm (33mm, 16.99 g, 6h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Laodicea ad Mare(?) mint. Struck circa 225 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, dolphin above monogram. SC 926a; Price 3236; HGC 9, 411; SNG Saroglos 561; Triton XVIII, lot 717 (hammer $6000). Near EF, darkly toned, a few light marks. Struck on a broad flan. Very rare, only one in CoinArchives, one in Pella, one in ANS Photofile.
