KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 18 mm, 8.59 g, 6 h), Pella, struck under Philip II or Alexander III, circa 340-328. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠOY Charioteer driving biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad in his right; below horses, thunderbolt. Le Rider 129 (D64/R95). An attractive example of fine style. Tiny test cut on the edge, otherwise, good very fine.
