BITHYNIA. Nicaea (?). Trajan, 98-117. Assarion (Bronze, 22 mm, 6.68 g, 1 h). AY NEP TPAIANOΣ KAIΣAP ΣE Laureate head of Trajan to right, drapery on left shoulder. Rev. ΔI-OC Eagle standing facing on globe, head to right and wings spread. RPC III -. An apparently unpublished variety. Well struck and unusually nice. Good very fine.


The attribution of these coins without ethnic is uncertain, but they may have been struck in Nicaea.
