Aelia Flaccilla was the wife of Theodosius I and was of Hispano-Roman descent. She was a very devout Christian and a strong supporter of the Nicene Creed. She likely influenced her husband in his decisions regarding ecclesiastic policy, such as the adoption of the Trinity doctrine as orthodox.
