Faustina I with Annius Galerius Antoninus. AE 23 mm. uncertain Greek mint (or Rome?) after 147 AD. Obv. ΘЄA ΦAYCTЄINA. Veiled and draped bust of Faustina I right. Obv.: M ΓAΛЄPIOC ANTѠNINOC AYTOKPATOROC ANTѠNINOY YIOC. Bare-headed and draped bust of Galerius Antoninus right. C. II, p. 443, 2 (Fr. 150). Mazzini pl. XCI,2. AE. g. 10.58 RR. Very rare and in excellent condition for issue. Nice brown-olive green patina. About EF.

M. Galerius Aurelius Antoninus was the second son of Antoninus Pius and Faustina, but he had already died before his father became emperor. This coin was issued to honour the memory of the empress and her son.
