Plautilla, wife of Caracalla (died 212 AD). AE 27 mm. Nicopolis ad Istrum mint, Moesia Inferior. Obv. ΦOVΛ ΠΛAVTIΛΛA CEB. Draped bust right. Rev. VΠ AVP ΓAΛΛOV NIKOΠOΛITΩN ΠPOC I. Eagle standing facing on globe, head right, wings spread, and wreath in beak. Varbanov 3191. AE. g. 12.34 A very attractive example, in excellent condition for issue. Delicate portrait and glossy dark green patina. Gently smoothed. EF.
