China Russo-Chinese Bank 1 Mexican Dollar 14.3.1901 Pick S536a. The elusive first issue for Shanghai from the only major Russian interest foreign bank operating in China during the Republic of China Era (it later became the Russo-Asiatic Bank). Colorful Russian printing is seen on both sides of this solid example. As these notes were not issued in great quantities, like those from British interest banks, and were redeemed in large amounts by its successor, any example extant today is in high demand. The hand signatures on both sides still show excellent ink. Stamp ink and minor rust are noted. PMG Very Fine 25. HID08701242017
