Gaius (Caligula). AD 37-41. Fourrée Denarius (17mm, 2.71 g, 12h). Struck AD 40 or later. C CAISOR AVG PON M TR POT III COS III, laureate head of Caligula right / C CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR POT, bare head of Caligula right. Fine, toned, some minor scratches, plating broken in areas. Unusual.

This interesting imitation combines a Rome mint obverse of AD 40 and a Lyon mint obverse of AD 37-38.
