NORMAN, Civil War. Local/Irregular issues. Circa 1138-1153. AR Penny (23mm, 1.10 g, 11h). Lozenge Fleurée and Annulets type (BMC iv). Lincolne (Lincoln) mint, Uncertain moneyer. Struck circa 1143-1152. Crowned facing bust / [+ ...]E : ON : LINCOLN, lozenge with incurved sides; star at center, trefoil at each end, and annulet in each quarter. Cf. Mack 72–4; Mossop 15 var. (dies A/– [unlisted rev. die]); cf. SCBI 27 (Lincolnshire), 951–3; North 897; SCBC 1301. Good Fine, toned, minor chips and marks. Struck on a square flan. Very rare.
