Republic Sun Yat-sen "Memento" Dollar ND (1912) MS61 NGC, KM-Y318, L&M-48, Kann-600. Founding of the Republic commemorative, with high five-pointed stars. Mottled gray toning shows over lustrous surfaces with minor handling marks. The high star variety is the scarcest of the many types of the MEMENTO dollars.
Note: We have previously listed this type as both 1912 and 1928 due to a lack of clear consensus on its actual date of mintage. In this instance, we have elected to go with Kann's date of 1912, which is generally more widely used than the L&M attribution of 1928.
