CELTIC, Carpathian region. Early 3rd Century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 13.26 g, 5 h), Zweigreiter type, imitating Philip II of Macedon, struck in the Banat region. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Horseman riding to right; below, branch. CCCBM I S24. Dembski 1029-1030. Flesche 662. Göbl 42-44. Kostial 378. Same reverse die as Leu 83, 6 May 2002, 517. An attractive lightly toned piece with a fine Celtic head. Some striking flatness and reverse very slightly off center, otherwise, about extremely fine.
