KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Stater (Gold, 17 mm, 8.58 g, 12 h), Sidon, 333-305 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with griffin. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Nike standing left, holding wreath in her right hand and stylis in her left; to right, wreath. Price 3457. Attractive and clear. Traces of mounting, minor scratch and an unimportant die break on reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
