KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.22 g, 12 h), struck posthumously, Odessos, c. 120-90 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛΕΩΣ AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to left, monogram of ΑΡ; below throne, monogram of ΟΔΗ. Price 1177 (same obverse die). Nicely toned and with an obverse in high relief. Minor marks, otherwise, about extremely fine.
