CILICIA. Tarsos. Mazaios, satrap of Cilicia, 361/0-334 BC. Stater (Silver, 23 mm, 10.39 g, 5 h). Baaltars seated left, holding eagle-tipped scepter in extended right hand; to left, grain ear and grape bunch above L; below throne, M. Rev. MZDY ZY 'BRNHR' W ḤLK ('Mazaios, Governor of Transeuphrates and Cilicia' in Aramaic) Lion pouncing to left, attacking a bull collapsing to right; below, above crenellated walls. Casabonne Series 4, Group A. SNG BN 360. SNG Levante 113. Lightly toned. Struck slightly off centre and from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.
