SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.01 g, 3 h), Laodikeia ad Mare, 300. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΣEΛEYKOY Zeus seated left on throne with back, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; below eagle, dolphin swimming left above monogram; below throne, monogram. Houghton Series II, Group 7, dies A7/P3. SC 36.6a. Toned; well centered, struck in high relief. Doublestruck reverse, otherwise, good fine.
