PHOENICIA. Tyre. 'Uzzimilk, circa 347-332 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 8.79 g, 12 h), year 4 = 346/345 BC. Melqarth, holding bow, riding on hippocamp right; below, two lines of waves and a dolphin swimming to right. Rev. Owl standing right, crook and flail over left shoulder; to right, date IIII O. Elayi & Elayi 868-77. HGC 10, 349. SNG Copenhagen 309. Toned and well struck on a broad flan. Some striking flatness, otherwise, good very fine.

From the collection of W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland, acquired from Hess AG in Luzern in the 1950s and prevously in the collection of the Coin Cabinet in Gotha.
