Colonials
1787 CONNCT Connecticut Copper, ETLIR, MS62 Brown NGC. M. 33.29-gg.1, W-3810, R.5. Of the 15 ETLIR varieties, only three are generally considered available, and several are distinct rarities. This variety is decidedly scarce, although it is not so rare as to be uncollectible. This piece shows a relatively well-centered strike and smooth glossy brown surfaces. The die state is late, with bulges at 7 and 9 o'clock on the obverse. The seated figure on the reverse is weakly struck, as seen to some extent on virtually all Connecticut coppers. No distracting marks are seen. Listed on page 64 of the 2018 Guide Book.
