According to Hesiod, Nike, the goddess of victory was the daughter of Pallas and Styx.She was appointed to guard the throne of Zeus with her brothers, Zelos, Kratos and Bia because they were the first to help Zeus when he called to arms against the Titans.She is usually pictured holding a wreath of stash to crown a victor, an oinochoe and a phiale for offerings, a thymiaterion (incense burner), an altar, and a lyre to celebrate a victory.
