ARAB-SASANIAN: Anonymous Khusro type, ca. 700/701, AR drachm (4.08g), SK (Sijistan), AH81, A-38N, pellet after bism Allah on obverse and after mint name SK on reverse, fine style, similar to issues of 'Abd al-Rahman also dated AH81, some light adhesions in obverse margin, EF, RRR. In AH81, 'Abd al-Rahman b. Muhammad marched westward, seizing Kirman and Fars provinces, but was ultimately defeated by al-Hajjaj b. Yusuf and forced to flee back to Sijistan in AH82. This type was probably issued somewhere in Sijistan by local authorities who rebelled against 'Abd al-Rahman, perhaps seeking power during his absence. A specimen was sold in Stephen Album Auction 15, Lot 83, for $580 (same obverse die).
