INDO-ROMAN: Septimius Severus, 193-211, AV aureus (6.96g), emperor's protrait, based on his later years, with blundered text around, SVEVEVE(...) PIVS VIIC // three people standing before the entrance to a temple, blundered text, PPIVIIIVTVOVGVIIII, some surface scratches, perhaps having been mounted in jewelry or decoration, VF, RRR. India imitation, probably made not long after the emperor's death in 211, carefully designed portrait and reverse design, which seems to have been borrowed from a much older Roman coin, and not found on any regular Roman coins of Septimius Severus.
