JORDAN: Hussain Ibn Talal, 1952-1999, AV medal (26.95g), 1988/AH1408, KM-M11, MB-12.1, Royal Hashemite Court commemorative issue struck on order of the Central Bank of Jordan featuring jugate portraits of King Hussein and Queen Noor while the reverse shows the royal arms, edge inscription HUSSEIN I AND NOOR AL-HUSSEIN 1988 750 AV plus similar inscription in Arabic. While these are not legal tender coins, they were all commissioned by the Central Bank of Jordan and distributed along with commemorative coins. In some cases, commemorative sets consisted of coins and medallic issues going hand-in-hand. These were exclusively presented by the monarchs to various dignitaries and VIPs of the Kingdom. Mintage is unknown, but likely only a very small number were struck.
