[AVT] OYAΛEPIANOC ΓAΛΛHNOC O[VAΛEPIANOC KAICA CEBBB] (or similar), laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valerian I right vis-à-vis laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus left; between, bare-headed and draped bust of Valerian II right / [NIKΩMHΔEΩN] TPIC NEΩK/OPΩN, three agonistic urns, each containing one or two palm branches. Nicomedia was granted the dignity of a being a neocorate (a city recognized by the Roman Senate or emperor for having a temple dedicated to the imperial cult) early in its history. Why all of a sudden it held games and celebrated its third neocoria during the joint reign of Valerian I and Gallienus is not certain, but perhaps indicates the completion of a third temple.
