Cimmerian Bosporos, Pantikapaion. Time of Mithridates VI Eupator. Ca. 105-90 B.C. Æ obol (30 mm, 15.86 g, 12 h). Head of Menes right, wearing Phrygian helmet with laurel wreath / [ΠAN]-TIKA/Π[AI]-TΩ[N], Dionysos standing facing, head left, holding grapes and thyrsos; at his feet to left, panther standing left, head turned back; in right field, monogram. MacDonald 170. Very rare. Green patina, overstruck on the preceding issue with Poseidon / Prow. Nearly very fine.
