Obv: Bellerophon riding r. on Pegasus, hurling spear. Rx: Chimaera standing l. on ground line. This bronze piece carries the types of the Corinthian trihemidrachms, types that were never struck in bronze. So it might be a trial piece that was not be meant to circulate as legal tender. But since our example seems to show circulation wear, maybe bronze trihemidrachms were temporarily issued, but then soon withdrawn and redeemed, in order to bridge a shortage of silver and/or small change coins. Curiously, there is no letter indicating the mint, though colonies of Corinth such as Leukas struck related issues with the very same types but different mint letters. In any case, a very rare piece.Extremely rare, possibly unique. F
