Chinese Tang Sancai Court Lady; Tang Dynasty, Circa 8th Century AD. The lady stands with her body undulating forward and dressed in and elaborte long sleeved court robe with its base conically flaring outward. Her hands gesture forward with the long sleeves of her gown touching her sides. The head, typically left unglazed retains traces of a white on the face and black pigments for the hair, which is set in an elaborate Tang style.. The piece is a nice example of the more desired Tang Sancai or "three color" glazing in white, amber and green or blue. The neck and wrists have been restored. H. 10 1/4" (26 cm)..
