The Vindelici occupied a broad region encompassing modern northeastern Switzerland, southeastern Baden, and southern Bavaria. They were subjugated by Tiberius circa 15 BC and remained within the Roman Empire, incorporated into the province of Raetia, even after the Germanic revolt of AD 9. They are regarded as a Celtic tribe, although other groups to the north and south are considered Germanic.
