SELEUCID KINGDOM. Seleucus II Callinicus (246-225 BC). AR tetradrachm (29mm, 16.72 gm, 1h). NGC MS 4/5 - 4/5. Antioch on the Orantes, after 244 BC. Diademed head of Seleucus II right, border of dots / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΣΕ-ΛΕΥΚΟΥ, Apollo standing left, examining arrow held in right hand and resting left elbow on sacrificial tripod, monograms in inner left and outer right fields. SC 689.1a. HGC 9, 303p. SC 727. Outstanding portrait in high relief! A truly mint state piece and decidedly rare for this ruler.
