INDIA. Kushan Empire. Huvishka (ca. AD 151-190). AV dinar (19mm, 7.91 gm, 12h). ANACS AU 58. Main Bactrian mint (?). ϷAONANOϷAO O-OHϷKI KOϷANO, diademed and crowned half-length bust of Huvishka left resting on clouds, holding mace-headed scepter in right hand and goad in left / MIOPO, Mioro (Miiro or Mithras) standing facing, radiate nimbus head left, holding vertical staff in left hand, resting right hand on hip; tamgha symbol to left. ANS Kushan -. Cf. MK 170 (similar obverse, reverse pose of Mioro different). Apparently an unrecorded reverse variety, with a hitherto unknown pose for the solar deity Mithras! Reverse legend a bit lightly struck, few light die breaks, otherwise a pleasing example of a great rarity.
